Coming into Philomath, I set high standards for myself both academically and athletically. Philomath High School has a history of high levels of success in basketball; league champions four consecutive years and state champions in 2014 and 2016. I focused on getting excellent grades knowing academic success was my priority followed by athletic success. Achieving academic success has now allowed me to focus getting into the gym to improve strength and conditioning and onto the court to work on my basketball skills.
I am part of a big family with strong family values. I have four aunts, two uncles, four grandparents and seven cousins. Growing up, everything was competitive between the cousins. As I got older, I began to display some competitive traits, one of those being a strong desire to win any competition.
Now being a Junior, I am working on fine tuning my skills both in the classroom and on the basketball court. I believe hard work generates positive results when that work is focused and driven from within. I am committed to staying focused on academic success, athletic success and mental fortitude. I see myself as a leader on our team and challenge myself to lead by example, both on and off the court.
