Academic
Class of 2022 Valedictorian
I maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. All whilst having no access to AP classes.
Freshman Class Office Treasurer
As a freshman in office, I learned a lot about working in a team with roles. I exceeded my job requirements, which is why sophomore year I became …
ASB Head Treasurer
I was voted upon by the administration to become head treasurer as a sophomore because of how I handled myself on the class office level.
ASB Activities Director
Going into my junior year I interviewed under treasurer again, however I was made an activities director due to my charisma and development in public speaking. This job entails running assemblies and basically being the propagandic face for school events.
ASB President
Coming up at such an upward trend in student government, there was really only one spot left for me to fill, so far I’ve been a president for around half my term and we have overcome so many challenges during this tough time. This has been a very successful year given the circumstances.
[2] NHS Member (National Honor Society)
NHS requires a 3.6+ GPA, NO major behavioral referrals, and some prerequisite information and personality background. I met the requirements and our service is going to start in the next month.
Yearbook Club
I just recently joined the yearbook club and I actually really enjoy it. The first week I won the design challenge to see who decides the theme. I was a newbie to the club yet my ideas were still voted on by the majority.

Seaside High School News
I along with two members of our SHS ASB created a weekly newscast. It premieres every Monday and contains up-to-date information on current events, school activities, and pandemic updates. In our first episode of SHSN we introduced a new form of school currency (sand dollars). It is an incentive for students to wear masks correctly at all times. It is very entertaining and even includes a weekly bloopers section where students send in their funniest clips to be featured. I am in charge of this project and do all the behind-the-scenes work including, script, editing, advertising, and making and dispensing the sand dollars. Everything has been a success so far. We have received only positive feedback from the newscast and the sand dollars have been a huge hit. I believe it really has made a difference for the better. When our 2023 ASB is elected, I will work with them on how to continue both the news and the sand dollars. I believe both of these projects can have an everlasting effect on SHS.

The Maccabi Games is the second largest and most diversified sporting event in the world behind the olympics. Every four years the best jewish basketball players from each state are chosen to come to a tryout. (This year it was in Pennsylvania only around 30 minutes from University City so I got to visit UPenn when I went. I loved it!) There were 50 kids chosen through each state plus a few wildcards. I made the team and I am shipping out to Israel in July of 22’.

Community Service
Shape-Up Across Oregon Exercise Program
Seaside Heights sanctioned this event and looked for volunteers to spearhead it. I willingly volunteered as it was a great opportunity for me to give back to the next generations and my old school. I came up with the idea that gave it its name. We would run and or walk certain distances with the kids each day and record the length of our movement. At the end we would put our miles across an Oregon map to see who made it the farthest.
Tobacco/Alcohol/Drug Prevention Program → Mayor's Award
‘The Program’ has been going on for years and years for the fifth grade classes at seaside high school. We do community service projects with the goal of preventing use of illegal or harmful substances. I went above and beyond with my project, my project had to do with aiding in the release of salmon in the estuary. I was awarded a special mayor's award, and given a free skateboard.
Elks Hoop Shoot Regional Finalist (Positive Proceeds)
This is sort of half and half a sports accomplishment and a service one. The elks is a great program. They are all about charity and the best of all people. I got to be involved in this program through the elks hoop shoot. So to sum it up, I was able to be involved in a very morally correct service program due to my extracurricular basketball skills. Best of both worlds.
United States of American Boy Scouts
This was also run by the elks. I started very young as a tiger scout and eventually ended my service as an eagle scout. I racked up badges and good deeds for years, and this is actually what alerted me of the hoop shoot.
[3] Cannon Beach Clean-Up/Fun Run
Every year the Cannon Beach Elementary School used to host a fun run/beach clean-up. Not only would I participate, I would help run the event. I was in charge of setting up boundaries and gathering prizes for winners.
Seaside Wahanna Field Dugout Construction
Under Coastal Restoration (Chris Corder) I volunteered to build and decorate all four of the current dugouts at Wahanna Field. These are the primary fields for our Seaside Softball team to practice at. They are also used at many tournaments at the Junior High, or Elementary level. It feels good whenever I see people enjoying themselves through my doing.
Key Club Involvement
My sophomore and junior years I volunteered as a guest in the Key Club (Community Service Program) to prepare thanksgiving dinners for those who for whatever reason couldn’t provide one for themselves or their family. This was run by Mrs. Susee.
Dornbechers Holiday Fundraiser
My ASB sold custom Seaside High School ornaments at school-sanctioned events. All proceeds were donated to Doernbecher’s children’s hospital. We raised over five hundred dollars in profits and another two hundred in monetary donations.
Toys for Tots (Toy Drive)
The holidays were a very busy time for me as my mom was recovering from surgery. She has many responsibilities that she bestowed on me. For example, her work does an annual Toys for Tots toy drive. She was unable to assist this year so I took her place. I spent around two hours each day on the weekends wrapping presents for three weeks.
Search and Rescue (Officer Goin)
Goin was a high-ranking official in the U.S. armed forces who received some of the highest honors at the national level. He also struggles with episodes caused by PTSD. He recently went off the grid and his family thought it ought to be necessary to search for him and bring him to safety. Alex Menashe, a former Navy Seal, called upon me to be an honorary member of the search. This was a several-day mission that entailed lots of preparation, reconnaissance, time, patience, and most importantly emotional perseverance. The hardest part of the job was interviewing and being present with the remaining family members. They were in constant distress and it was our job to keep them in a state of, ‘everything is going to be okay’
Pacifica Project
My Pacifica Project was to coach two young basketball programs. Both first and second-grade boys were under my coaching staff’s jurisdiction this year. We had two practices per week and games on Saturdays. Practices were on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6:30 each evening. Games were intrasquad as other nearby towns didn’t have a great handle on the covid protocols and were unprepared for that much contact. That didn’t stop us though. We arranged teams differently every week, mixing first and second graders until, over the next few weeks, everyone played everyone. I had a fantastic time sharing my knowledge of one of my favorite activities. It was such an honor the parents trusted us with their children and if I have a chance to do it again next year, I will.
