I absolutely love the game of basketball, everything it offers, and the challenges it poses. As I've played different roles on different teams, I realize the significance and importance of great team leadership, hard work ethic, and playing disciplined, high IQ basketball. In eight and ninth grade, starting with upperclassmen on varsity, I played the role of locking down the opposing team's best player while also being relied on for 10+ points a night. This past season as a sophomore I was the leader of an inexperienced team, which gave me a lot more experience as a leader in practice and games, and was given the role of a volume scorer, averaging 22.5 ppg through double teams and box -and -1s. My travel program, Next Level Strong, lead by successful former Bucknell women's coach, Kathy Fedorjaka, emphasizes a highly competitive, disciplined, and intelligent style of play that is designed for players to be ready for post high-school playing opportunities. Participating in her program these past three years at point guard has exponentially boosted my understanding of the game; the discipline and intangibles that are required to play college ball. I am always grateful to have the opportunity to play this game, to compete, to push myself and my teammates, and am always striving to be successful in whatever role I am given by my coaches. I always try to keep perspective and enjoy the moments I get on the court, whether I have a spotlight or not. I always put team and winning first, and enjoy every opportunity to play.
This summer I was fortunate to earn the Dick DeVenzio Legacy Scholarship (partial) to attend the renowned PGC Scoring College Camp at Bowling Green St. Univ. While I am certainly excited to compete and grow my game on the court, I am most looking forward to PGC's classroom where I can learn about the nuances and details of film breakdown and leadership so that I have a fuller understanding of what it takes to win.
