Personal Statement

I believe I would be a great addition to any team. I pride myself on being the best defensive player on the team. Setting screens, crashing boards, and bringing energy to my team helps to open up opportunities for everyone else. I am athletic, hard working, and always learning the game which helps me to become the very best player I can be. I think every team needs a work horse that can box out, pull rebounds on both sides of the court, and help spread the floor.

I enjoy playing on all levels, be it pick up games at the YMCA or High School or AAU. I am looking to dive into the realm of technology to achieve a master degree in business technology. I would like to explore the field of coding or programming.

Continuing onto a player who arguably stood out as one of the top campers on display, William Stumpf. He’s a long, wiry, bouncy forward prospect with IQ, fluidity, and floor-spacing ability from beyond the arc. Stumpf is an athletic finisher who rebounds well, lurks for putbacks, and runs the floor well in transition. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it will help prepare him for the physicality of the next level. Coach Mills on Stumpf: “William was one of the best back-to-the-basket players in camp. Yes, he had a nice jumper with good shooting mechanics and the ability to knock down three-pointers, but was unstoppable on the block. He is skilled with great size. Long with solid athleticism. He has the ability to make plays with or without the ball in hands. William has good footwork and can finish above the rim. He’ll be one to watch in the coming season, as he definitely has college ability.” Stumpf did a lot of things well at camp, and should warrant attention from college coaches over the next calendar year.

#177: 6’5 ’23 William Stumpf (Fort Mill) Finishing up, we look at a player that operated quite nicely as the lone interior presence on this team, William Stumpf. He’s a long, wiry, athletic forward prospect with a high motor and natural nose for the ball. Stumpf is a capable scorer from multiple levels, but seems to make his strongest impact as a rebounder, defender, and overall hustle player. He moves effectively without the ball and fills in the gaps very well on both ends of the floor. Next in his development process is working on his consistency as a three-point shooter, as it would take his game to another level. Coach Lewis on Stumpf: “William is a long, athletic forward who showcased his ability to finish above the rim. He controls the glass on both sides of the ball. William is a capable shooter from the perimeter and runs the floor well to block a lot of shots defensively. He has good hands and is a constant threat for putback chances.” Stumpf was among this team’s most consistent performers throughout camp, and should be poised for a productive upcoming season at Fort Mill.
