My family has always been a basketball family, so growing up it was ingrained in my head that I should become a basketball player. Starting to play at the tender age of four, I fell in love with the game and developed multiple traits that have led me to become the player and young man I am today. Among those is a work ethic I apply not only to basketball by practicing my skills 2-4 times a day, but also in the classroom by maintaining a high GPA. Basketball has also taught me to listen to what people are saying in order to use that information to my advantage.
Using my high basketball IQ, I anticipate my opponents next decision through body movements which makes me a great on ball defender. Furthermore, playing 11 years of basketball has helped me develop a unique nose for the ball coming off the rim after a shot which makes me a tremendous rebounder. I also possess a quick first step with nice footwork which makes it easier to get to the rim and either finish, draw a foul, or kick out to an open teammate for a shot. My goal is to pursue a collegiate program that suits me both academically and athletically. I have no doubt in my mind that I can have a significant effect on a college team not only with my talent, but with my hustle, character, work ethic, listening skills, and love for the game!
