Hello, i'm Jordan Hamlett and currently starting my Junior year at Crowley High in Crowley, Texas right outside Fort Worth. My most outstanding characteristic that coaches identify quickly is my leadership and ability to rally my teammates together. I have played the position of point guard all my career and some two guard when called upon. I consider myself an extension of my coach on the floor. I enjoy studying film and the IQ side of basketball. My coach has told me to make the best basketball play; and it doesn't have to be flashy.
I have been the youngest player on my team but have a great relationship with my teammates. I have been blessed that they have followed my leadership. I am very committed to coaches that have an interest in me possibly playing for them. I find that to be an honor in them showing interest in me. It is a gift to play basketball and want to show how grateful by giving me best when on the floor.
I am currently 5'10 and weigh 155 lbs. My most important accomplishments is that I was named Most Valuable Player on my team after my Sophomore year and team captain. I led our 20-11 team in scoring and assists last year at 15 points and 4 assists a game. The most important statistic is that I averaged less than one turnover a game. In addition, I led our team in three point field goals and percentage. There was two games this year that I had 7 three pointers made in a game. I'm most proud that during the season, my coach had confidence in calling my play to take the last second shot. This helped me gain more confidence when I made a last second three pointer to send the game into overtime.
Each Summer, I attend a training camp with College players which is Train Like A Pro from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm the entire Summer to improve and bring something new to my game. I have been working on my basketball skills at this camp for the last five years. Also, I attended the University of Texas at Austin basketball camp in 6th grade and was awarded the Most Valuable Player award in my age group. I want to thank my coaches and teammates through the years in helping me to grow as a player.
My goal is to be able to earn my degree in Business Marketing. I know that I will have to continue to work hard academically. If I'm able to play college basketball, my desire is to play at the highest level for my college and make an impact on a winning team. My experiences of playing shortstop and centerfield in baseball has helped me in the area of basketball. The areas it has helped me is leadership in being vocal in leading my teammates.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read my profile and learn more about my goals, desires, and my beliefs.
Respectfully,
Jordan Hamlett
