Dear Coach
My name is Larenzo Da'Von Patterson. I'm a point guard/ shooting guard for Oscar Dean Wyatt High School in Fort Worth Texas. I'm expected to graduate in May 2020. I've played basketball my entire time at Wyatt. I was in the starting five for the last three years. I also play basketball for my step father's basketball club the Fort Worth Wildcats. I've played for him since I was in the third grade.
In April 2018 I broke my wrist while playing in the spring league with the varsity team at O.D. Wyatt. Breaking my wrist limited me going to camps and training during off season and summer. It felt like I lost an entire year. Upon returning to school I was released from the doctor and I immediately started back working out and training on my skills however, the coaches didn't put me on varsity but back on junior varsity as captain of the squad. We had an undefeated season in district.
Although I was sad about not playing varsity but I understood why. I was moved up to varsity during playoff season. With so much time lost I'm dependent on making skills trainings, campus, and showcases mostly in the area. I'm not sure on how much I will have on the court as the team is pretty much stack with starters of 11th graders.
My gpa needs improvement; I'm currently at 2.91. I'm am working on improving that as I know that is very important. I'm attending summer school. I will be retaking the SAT and ACT for higher scores at tdee beginning of my senior senior for better scores.
I'm 5'10", 138 lbs, my last vertical test was 9' and my wingspan 6.1'. I'm jumping much higher today. I've dunked a few times recently. I'm very excited about that. It was a goal for me to be dunking at end of my sophomore year but unfortunately I broke my wrist.
I'm undecided on what I want to major in but heavily considering sports management, physical education, or business. I really would like to be coach someday.
I'm interested in visiting your campus and your basketball programs that you have available that may be a good fit for me. The only challenge may be finances and travel challenges.
Thank you for your time and reading my letter. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you.
I've included my contact information. I do not have any professional videos to provide.
