Mason Wujek '22 Recruiting Profile

My love for the sport of basketball started when I was very young. I would go to my father's practices and watch him coach and watch the players play. I loved playing with older kids and learning how to play the game and as he moved up to the high school I would do the same thing. I would run pick up games with the varsity guys and hold my own. From there the game of basketball caught my love of the competition.

I was thankful this past year that I had the the opportunity to start as a Sophomore on my varsity team and go two rounds into the playoffs. I had many challenges along the way,  from being a backup to having to prove myself to the coaches and teammates. I am now one of my team's leaders and have high hopes for this year. This past summer I experienced a lot of recognition from recruiters and have made a lot of lists as one of the top power forwards in the state of Texas. 

Some unique characteristics that I have in basketball are I've always been a very aggressive player and great rebounder. I am a great shooter as I shot 40% from behind the three point line, and I shot 50% from the field. I have always enjoyed playing down low and being physical is something that I'm good at. 

My academics are another thing I pride myself on with a 3.85 GPA and I was a part of the district 9-5A All Academic Team. I am a member of the National Honor Society at Frisco High School. 

I have goals that I want to accomplish at the collegiate level which includes academics and my competitive nature. I want to be able to compete at the collegiate level and be successful. I want to find the right college for me and follow these goals through and make my dreams of competing and achieving my goal of receiving a degree.
