Hi, Coach, my name is Haylen Mattiza and I'm a 6'-6 1/2" Senior at Midlothian High school in Midlothian, TX. Although I have been playing basketball all of my life, I have just started growing into my skill set this season and have found a new love for the game.
My mom played basketball for Sonja Hogg at Baylor University, and although my dad didn't play at the collegiate level - he should have. I know I was born to play hoop because of them and look forward to a potential opportunity to play with you.
I feel I would be a good asset for any team because of my team/"family" first attitude. I know it takes everyone to win games - both on, and off, the court, and have been raised by my parents to lead by example.
I plan to major in animal science at a school that would also allow me to play basketball. Preferably the college I go to will allow me to major in the art of finding the perfect "squish" of a given animal! :) just kidding.
I look forward to talking to you!
Haylen Mattiza
