Adam Shumway '22 Recruiting Profile

Basketball has changed my life. It has taught me from an early age the principles of discipline and perseverance. This has led me to improve on the court and to excel in school and other sports. My AAU coach, David Jones, played professional basketball in Europe for 13 years and has taught me what it takes to elevate my game to the next level. His connections in the basketball world have given me the opportunity to visit and play in Germany and China. These amazing experiences have allowed me to get to know and compete with some of the best competition in other nations as well as understand their cultures and customs. I will always remember exploring The Great Wall of China and other incredible places with my team, knowing that basketball made it happen. I love putting in countless hours at the gym, competing alongside my teammates, and learning from my coaches. I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach the collegiate level. I hope to someday be able to help and bond with a team and to become a great student athlete. I look forward to where basketball takes me next.
