Isaiah Valdez '20 Recruiting Profile

       First of all I LOVE basketball. I have always loved basketball and my dream is to play basketball for a college or University.  I am a dedicated and determined player and give it my all for my team because I expect my team to give it their all for me. I am a very hard worker and I have a lot of drive and determination. I am a team player and nothing is cooler than when everyone on a team does their part and you see the play come together. My High school coach said I am a catalyst. I like to get everyone fired up and excited to play.  I am very serious about getting my education because I know it is the key to my future.  I am an Honors student and I chose to take advanced classes because I need to be challenged and I'm a curious cat. I want to get my BS in business. I have two older brothers that are always talking to me about finishing school and not getting distracted along the way.  My oldest brother Simon has his Masters degree in Accounting from UTSA and works as a CPA for Ernst and Young.  My middle brother Jonah is going to be a Senior at UTSA in Computer Hardware Engineering. They are honor students and encourage me to do the same.  I get a lot of support from my mom and dad and my brothers. I am very responsible for my age.  My two older brothers and I own a Firework company called Action V Fireworks (friend us on facebook). We had no idea how much responsibility there was to starting a business and dealing with state, county, and city laws, taxes, employees, paperwork, Fire Marshals, product selection,  etc...etc... We have learned so much since then. I have managed to juggle my academics with advanced classes, my business and basketball, and still be an A student. I am also very involved in school activities, Student Council, The Superintendents Advisory Council, track( Shot put and discus). I feel that you can't complain about something if your not willing to be a part of the solution. Take a chance on me and I will do my best to make  you glad you did.
