Dear Coaches,
Basketball is absolutely one of the focus areas of my life, as I am extremely passionate about the sport. I love the challenges it poses regarding my physical fitness and athletic abilities, team building, and the critical thinking skills required to play the game well. I believe that I am naturally built for the sport, standing at 6’ 2-1/2”, with a size 16 shoe, that I am certain I will continue to grow into. I weigh in at 175# and am very disciplined when it comes to diet and exercise, going to the gym outside of school 3-5 times a week in addition nightly AAU practices and school athletics. During track season, I was recorded having a 4.22 second 40 yard dash. Academically, I am a straight A student with a 4.44 GPA.
Weather and academic projects permitting, I am outside every day, playing basketball either at the park or in my driveway. I participated in not only playing Basketball with Santa Fe Junior High as a starter on their A-Team, but also in two AAU teams, LivOn Blue Chips and SWW (Strong When Weak). Rarely is there a weekend during which I am not participating in tournament play. On my first AAU team in 2021, I was awarded MVP of the year and the following year, I participated in a Rockets Basketball Camp in Houston, again receiving the MVP award for the entire camp, of which I was one of the youngest in my age group.
I am extremely excited about the prospect of attending a university that is not only a great school, athletically, but one that is academically renowned; in other words, I am looking for a well-rounded university that is going to support my athletic and academic goals. Athletically, I want to be a part of a team that will help me grow as an athlete and a leader; and one that works well together. I believe that I can contribute with my strong leadership skills. I was personally selected to be a Band Captain for 8th Grade Symphonic Band and have been awarded 1st chair for 2 years. I have grown up around two parents that own their own companies, and have participated in not only observing them working extremely hard to achieve their own goals, but have worked together with my Mom specifically in leading their Inventory Management team in organization and the motivation to continue organizational practices. I have been privy to brainstorming and integrating new ideas for Mosherflo Pumps in both purchasing and the manufacturing of pumps. In other words, I am no stranger to hard work and dedication to succeed in all aspects of life.
As I mentioned above, I am looking to attend a well-rounded university. I would prefer to stay in the South or Southeastern part of the United States; however, I am open-minded about other prospects beyond this geographical area. I prefer smaller class sizes, as I have always enjoyed close relationships with my teachers, rarely ever getting in trouble, except when reading too much in class. I enjoy helping the class however I can, and I am in all Pre-Ap classes while selecting electives such as Band and Athletics. That being said, my ideal school would be small to medium in size, with a lower Student to Faculty ratio.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon! Thank you for taking time out of your day to review my profile!
Sincerely,
Byron Mosher
