Matthew Jannes '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Jannes and I play basketball for Frassati Catholic High School. I've been playing basketball since 1st grade, and it has been my goal since day one to play at the collegiate level. Something that is unique about me is that I have lived in five different states. Although starting over in a new place has been tough, it has also been a blessing in disguise. I've learned many lessons about adapting and have had the opportunity to play basketball at a high level in Maryland, Tennessee and Texas.

Although I am quiet, I am respected as a leader by my teammates.   I led my team in scoring the past two years, set the school's single game scoring record and was voted to the first team all-district squad for the third consecutive year. 

My goals for college are to get a good education so that I have a successful career in accounting/finance and to accomplish the goal I set when I was young to play the sport I love. I believe I can make an impact by being a good student, a good teammate and a role model for those that follow me. I have experience playing with all types of players and I know what it takes to win. I believe in playing for the name on the front of the jersey and I will do whatever it takes to win.
