2016 my grandfather passed away; he was the only positive male role model in my life. I began to carry his last name and am determined to honor it by continuing to create a legacy that he would be proud of; this is my motivation.
My mother encouraged my siblings and I to try new things, find what motivated us and go for it with all we have. I began playing sports at age 4 for the YMCA. I have played soccer, football, basketball, and track&field. I have also tried tennis, baseball and swim. After many years of playing different sports I realized I am a basketball player. No matter what game I went to or whatever sport I was playing; I would always end up with a basketball in my hands.
Middle School and High School Sports taught me that I have always been smart, humble, determined and a team player; but need to gain confidence in my abilities as an athlete. I developed that confidence and am an even stronger player that continues to strive to be the best I know I can be.
Through all of the obstacles I have faced: ADHD, Absent Father, the death of an Honorable Man and growing confident in my athletic ability; I have gotten closer to reaching my life goal. I want to complete a University with my Masters in Business Accounting. I know that I can achieve that goal intellectually and hopefully financially through basketball.
