Personal Statement

I have spent my whole life growing up in and around a gym with my dad being a high school and college basketball coach.  My love of the game has grown from when I first sat on the bench with my dad when I was little getting to watch the older kids play, to the first time I got to play in a league, to reaching one of my dreams and goals of playing varsity basketball.  My passion for the game continues to grow as I work towards being able to compete at the collegiate level.

Academically, I have had three goals since I entered high school.  They are 1. Make straight A's throughout high school  2. Graduate as Valedictorian and 3.  Make the Academic All-State team for each sport I compete in. I am within grasp of reaching all three of these goals as I currently have made straight A's through my Junior year, I am currently number one in my class, and based on my current GPA I will be Academic All-State for each sport.

My academic goals for college are to make the dean's list each semester, to graduate with my bachelor degree within four years and then pursue a graduate level degree. I am still deciding what I would like to major in, but I am leaning towards either Education or Sport Management.

I have been very fortunate to have been a part of some amazing teams throughout my young career. Being a part of these teams I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. I'm looking for a program that will be a great fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a four-sport athlete and six-time captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
