I have always loved to compete, and that drive has pushed me to be the very best I can be both on and off the court. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to compete at the highest level and college is next on my list of things that I want to accomplish.
I have been fortunate to play multiple positions from a young age. At 6'4", I was developed early as a big, but learned that to be the best I needed to take my game outside as well. I have worked hard to develop those skills and as a result, have a well-rounded game, capable of posting up any big, handling the ball, shooting the three, or powering it to the hole. My ball-handling skills are strong, which allows me to score both inside and out. However, what separates me is my ability to not only score but to play defense and rebound. Rebounds and defensive stops are just as important to me as are buckets. I like to play tough and physical and am not afraid to dive on the ground for a loose ball.
I am a leader and believe in doing it through my example on the court. Rather than talk, I let my game do the talking. I love to motivate my teammates and encourage them whenever I can. I work hard not only during every game but also during practice. I believe that if you work hard in practice, the game should come easier. One of the things that separates me from others is my athleticism. I have gained that through diligently hitting the weight room, not to mention competing in other sports such as golf, and track and field.
I worked hard this past summer, developing my game as my club SUSA (Southern Utah Sports Academy) participated in the 3SSB Adidas circuit. I enjoyed traveling and competing against some of the top players in the country. When I'm not competing at basketball, I enjoy competing on the golf course and was the top player on my high school team, finishing 12th this year in Class 4A. h
I also believe that to be a student-athlete, you need to excel in the classroom as well. I have worked hard to keep my GPA above 3.5, even while competing in sports such as basketball, golf, and track. However, I also believe in giving back and volunteering for my church and within my local community.
I know that I haven't reached my full potential on the basketball court. I believe that my best days on the court are still before me. I want to compete for a college that sees my abilities and that can continue to help me develop my full potential. I believe that I can fit in with nearly any program in the country if given the opportunity. I am open to any college interested in a true competitor, a competitor who isn't afraid to work, and whose skills I believe can help some college compete at the highest level. I want to find a college that I can call home, where I can compete at the highest level, where I can be a leader, an example, make my parents proud, and who can prepare me for whatever the future has in store.
