I would like to play college basketball because I have grown up in the competitive environment of sports, and I want to follow and continue my passion for as long as possible. One of the main reasons that I want to continue to a higher level is to make my community proud. Coming from a small town, not many people advanced into college sports so it would be a very big accomplishment if I was given the opportunity to. Because of the tight-knit and supportive community I grew up in, I've learned how to motivate and uplift my teammates in all of the hardships we face. I have been recognized by experienced coaches, as well as new coaches for my leadership role on the team and have recently been named captain. I believe that the reason I succeed on my team is because I strive to grow my abilities any chance that I get; I participate in an AAU team every year, I practice my shooting and handling, and I also like to lift weights and go for runs. Even with a big piece of my focus on athletics I make sure I have enough time for my education and can maintain my 3.39 GPA.
