When I first started playing basketball, I usually played the point position. As I grew taller, I was moved to a shooting guard or wing, because that is probably what I would be used for in high school. Now I mainly play small forward, however, I also play point guard to center – wherever my team needs me. I believe this versatility is what has helped me most to be an asset to my team and can be seen in my stats. My early years of running point taught me to see the court and better understand how to setup plays and scoring no matter what position I am playing. I work just as hard at defense as I do at offense. My main focus during a game is to do what it takes to make my team better and to get the win. It takes a team to win games. Trusting my teammates and making sure they feel like they can trust me is always a priority.
My next goal is to play basketball in college and to get a good education. I continue to work on developing the skills necessary to achieve this goal, in both athletics and academics. I believe I can be an asset to a team because of my versatility, my understanding of the game, my ability to setup plays, and knowing the importance of playing both ends of the court – with intensity. I would appreciate the chance to show you what I can bring to your team and school.
