Shane Batten '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Shane Batten and I have loved basketball since the age of 7.   When I started playing rec ball at 7 years old,  my family and coaches quickly realized that I  had a special talent and needed more of a challenge,  I started playing AAU basketball at the age of 8 with the Spotsylvania Spiders.   With the help of my coaches, my Father being one of them, I really began to grow  and learn the skills and leadership I have today,   With the Spotsylvania Spiders we went to win the 2016 USBA National Championship in Charlotte, NC., which was a major milestone and achievement in my basketball career.    In addition making and getting playing time on the Varsity team my Freshman year in high school was another big achievement. 

 Basketball has given me the passion for succeeding not only on the court but in the classroom too.    My goal is to play basketball at the college level.  My hard work both on and off the court will make me a great recruit.  With my faith in God and the love and support from Family and Coaches I really believe I will achieve my goals.
