Collin Secrist '22 Recruiting Profile

At 5 years old my love of basketball started to grow, however, my love for basketball was really built as I started attending college basketball games with my family year after year. The game has taught me a lot but the biggest thing I have learned about myself while playing the game is to be a good teammate and always put in extra effort. I have been blessed in life to not really face a lot of true obstacles; although I am learning now that we are quarantined that I have to overcome obstacles to continue to grow in my skills and life. The largest obstacle I have faced on the court is people criticizing my game, but, my parents and grand father, the people who have influenced me the most, have always taught me to continue to work on my game; if you're not working on your game someone else is working on theirs. This has been very beneficial to me in life. I believe my sportsmanship and my work ethic are two of my strongest characteristic and will make me a great asset to any team. I look forward to my love for basketball helping me achieve my academic goal of obtaining a college degree.
