Hello, my name is Jiyon Watts, and this is my story throughout my high school career. My first year of high school was probably my worst, I ended my first semester with some of the worse grades I’ve ever had, ranging from a D to C average. Near the end of the year, one of my closer teachers recommended that I go to one of the senior meetings that they were having during my lunch period. The senior that I was appointed to was Jarvis Von, a basketball superstar that was about to be a division one basketball player. Jarvis and I talked all through lunch period, mostly about basketball but one of the most important things we talked about was grades. He went over how important they are and how without them you can’t get anywhere in life, even if you’re the best ballplayer. So after having this deep talk with Jarvis, it came to me that it was finally time to change my ways. From that point on I devoted myself to stay the best student-athlete I could be. As of Nov 30, 2020, my weighted GPA stands at 2.8, but my GPA scale for the last two years after getting myself back on track is a 3.4. My attended major for college is sports management, with a future goal of being an athletic director for a big-time school.
