As a multi-sport athlete since the age I could first participate in sports, I’ve learned a lot of things–dedication, work ethic, teamwork, how to deal with adversity and persevere, flexibility, the importance of goal setting and taking action to meet those goals, competitiveness, toughness and grit. Athletics have shaped me into the person I am today, and I bring these qualities to the court. As a post for many years, I learned how to seal, use my body to gain advantages inside, and position for rebounding. These skills have made me one of the top rebounders on every team I’ve played on. After shifting to an outside position, I’ve spent countless hours honing my shooting skills so I am a scoring threat from anywhere on the court. Having played multiple positions over the years has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the whole game and made me a very versatile player. I’m just as serious about my classroom pursuits as basketball, and have maintained excellent grades with an extremely rigorous course load. I know that my study habits and intellect make me a better player, and will also create opportunities for me down the road.
