Having played competitive basketball since I was in the fifth grade, I always thought when I was younger that it was about winning and how many points you scored. As I matured and learned more of the game of basketball, it has taught me many lessons that I can apply both on and off the court. The game has taught me accountability, trusting my teammate to execute his specific role in a game situation, responsibility, holding myself to a high standard, and executing all that was asked of me. In addition I believe and stand for loyalty and dedication, committing myself fully to the team on and off the court, and always giving 110% each and every single day in everything that I do. I value teamwork, unselfishness, being able to make the extra pass and making the extra effort for someone else as it's not about me but about the team and what we learn and accomplish together.
I have always been held to a high standard, not just by myself but by my friends, coaches, and most importantly my family. I represent the best of myself, my family, my school, and my community. I want to play with a team and represent a college who shares some of the same values as I do. My character, skills, and lessons I've learned while playing basketball and in the game of life sets me apart from other student athletes and I would be proud and honored to represent to play for your program.
