My collegiate goals are to become a student athlete and earn a college degree while competing for a spot on a competitive basketball team. From the time I could dribble, I have dreamed of playing college basketball. That has motivated me to work hard on the court and in the classroom daily towards that vision, one shot at a time, one class at a time, to learn and improve each day.
What makes me a good candidate for your program is that I was raised by a Mom and Dad who believe being a "good" person, and treating others the way you want to be treated, showing full respect to all teachers, coaches, janitors, teammates, through the truth of God is the what I should work towards. On a team I am we focused over me focused. I want minutes, points, wins, but more important, I want a team bond across my coaches and teammates that will take us through any kind of weather, season, ups and downs, knowing we have each others backs, and I will give everything to achieve that, physically, and mentally.
What I believe makes me different is that I aim to let no one out work me in the gym, the weight room, the classroom and understand the discipline and commitment that takes. I own my decisions, my energy, my attitude, and try to make the best to support my team, my school, my dream. Examples of this is my 3.95 GPA in the classroom, workouts involving agility, weights, AAU club games, Yoga, Mindset training, and good nutrition, my mom is a dietician so shes on me.
Finally, I believe I am a good person. I am reliable, responsible, and funny. I am a hungry competitor, and love the battle, the grind. I don't get into trouble on or off the court, never had a drink, never smoked/vaped, or tried drugs, similar to my dad who had a job offer from the CIA. My friends tease me calling me a "try-hard" and goody 2 shoes. I work summer jobs to help my parents pay for my training and club travel working as a barista at Starbucks (no easy gig), and a local pizza restaurant, as I am so grateful for the time and money they support me with for hoops. Most of all I am hungry to learn, eager to grow, and coachable, I just need the right opportunity to fly! I know I am a key piece that will fit many basketball program puzzles!
Thank you for reading this.
