My name is Luke Blachly and I want to go to college. More importantly, I want to play college basketball. Adversity isn’t new to me. At an early age, I learned that I might not be the best student or the best player on the court, but if I worked hard, I could achieve both. Goal setting is a huge part of my journey to college. One of the most important decisions I made, was to attend a college prep high school. School isn’t easy for me, and I have had to put more time in than the average student, to achieve good grade. This struggle has taught me a work ethic. I set two goals for starting high school, making the honor roll and junior varsity as a freshman. After my first semester, I am proud to say I made JV and honor roll, with my 3.71 GPA.
Basketball has opened many doors for me and taught me about myself. Lessons learned on the court, have transitioned into my daily life. I am a competitor at heart. I love to win and hate to lose. I know I have to work hard and put the time in to be successful. I wasn't always the most talented, fastest, or biggest kid on the court, but I was the hardest working. Hard work doesn’t scare me, so I cannot wait to see what my future hold.
