I've competed many years in AAU Basketball, Native basketball tournaments as well as throughout my high school career. My goal is to play at the collegiate level as well as gain a degree in fire sciences, specifically wildland fire. I grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation where I've attended high school from Kindergarten to now my Senior year. I want to be a positive role model for our native youth on the reservation, my high school team just won our first State Championship in basketball this year, we also made it to the State Quarter Finals in Football and State Regionals in Baseball. Through this, our basketball team maintained a combined 3.5 gpa which I believe has shown our youth that its important to not only excel in sports but also in the classroom. I watched my oldest sister compete at a higher level through high school and through her college career. She instilled in me the want and desire to not only gain an education but also compete at this level, she ran track, x-country and played basketball for Illinois College. I believe by continuing to show all youth that anything is possible, that we can leave the reservation, be successful and return home to work and teach our kids is not out of reach.
I believe I am a good candidate for your team because I push myself, I listen and encourage all those around me. I'm coachable and understand the importance of putting in work to be able to play. What makes me different from any others is I'm a positive influence on others, at night while others are hanging out, I'm in a gym putting in work, always grinding. I'm a versatile athlete as I not only play as a shooting guard at 6'1", I also play safety, corner, tight end, and wide receiver in football and short-stop in baseball.
I'm eager to continue my education and athletic career.
