Personal Statement

I am a good athlete, and I also carry about academic. I study very well in a top ranking private boarding school, and I get fine GPA. I practice really hard on basketball, and I practice at 6 am in the morning almost every day. I always encourage my teammates during game, and I always the guy that want the ball. I keep pushing myself on the court. My coach likes me very much, which make me a varsity starter as sophomore.

Michael Xie , a 6'3 2018 186 lb prospect of Wayland Academy (WI), is a solid player with potential. Michael possesses fantastic size for position and the prospect has superb length and very good athleticism. Michael reported a superb academic resume and proved to have a very good basketball IQ. The prospect displayed very good shot selection in addition to being a very good shooter with time and space. The prospect was evaluated as having a superb body type for the next level. The player's strength was rated very good but should continue to develop with age and a regimented weight/conditioning program that includes push ups/jumping rope amongst other body weight and quickness drills. The player displayed a very good motor in addition to showing very good toughness. The 2018 prospect exemplified very good passing ability and very good ball handling skills. Finishing ability around the basket appeared to be good and from an overall defensive standpoint the prospect is good. Defensively we would like to see continued improvement both on and off the ball in addition to always seeing ball and man. We would emphasize staying lower on both ends of the court. In addition, we would like you to continue learning how to play without the ball as most players only have the ball a max of 10% of the game (even less if you have ball stoppers on your team). We are excited to monitor this prospect's development in the future and would like to see continued improvement in all areas we rated as de cent or good to fully maximize college potential. ScoutsFocus and our college coaching staff believes Michael has college potential with continued hard work and development both in the classroom and on the hardwood.

I represented team ShenZhen (Five Star Sports), and we finished the U18 tournament's runner-up. We won against teams from HongKong, Russia and, GuangDong. We lost an Italian team in showcase final by 7. The head coach is Brock Ammons, played college basketball in D2 Ohio Dominican University. He played me as a defensive guard. He always let me to guard the best player from the other teams. I was a six man in my team, and I played lock down defense and rebound very well during the whole event. Coach said that I am really good team player, and average 6 points per game.
