Michael Poker '20 Recruiting Profile

The I am committed to reaching my potential on and off the basketball court through hard work.  I am driven by competition.  My focus on the court , as a point guard, is to make my teammates better in order to achieve team success. As a freshman  I played varsity basketball and  played approximately 30 minutes a game. As a sophomore, I started at point guard and played 34 minutes per game. I was named Honorable Mention All Conference. My Brookfield East team went 25-3 and advanced to the Division 1 State Championship game, where I played in front of over 16,000 people. My junior year I was selected to 2nd team All Conference and doubled by scoring average to 12.5 points per game. I also achieved per game career highs in scoring ( 27), rebounds (10), and assists (10).  This past season I made 70 three pointers shooting 50% from the field, which lead our team and conference. Most importantly, my team went 20-5 for our second consecutive 20 win season. My team competes in the best basketball conference in Wisconsin so I am accustomed to playing against the best. I welcome responsibility on and off the court and thrive in pressure situations. My best games this past year was against the top ranked teams in the state.  Off the court I have implemented a rigorous weight lifting program and studied the game.  It is my desire to play college basketball at a top academic institution. Eventually, I desire to coach to help others reach their potential.
