My love for basketball has guided me to want to get a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. Throughout high school, I have trained 3 days per week preparing myself to be physically and mentally ready for the game. I have also mentored and trained other young athletes to prepare for the same. I want to make sure that my educational success is in what I want to do in my future and also to give back to others like I have been guided to this point in my life.
During my college career I would like to play basketball. I want to continue to train, mentor and be the best player I can be. After college, I plan on playing basketball overseas to continue to do what I love and learn more about other cultures, languages and beliefs. I believe that learning is a never ending process and it continues throughout your whole life. It will help to make me a more well rounded and diverse person. These are qualities that I will use in college, on the basketball court, my career, in mentoring and training other athletes.
Continuing to volunteer in the community is something that I will also continue to do. I learned how to be a real man not only from my father, but from my mentor. Having someone else to talk to outside of family gave me the ability to express myself and learn to listen and see things from other perspectives. I think every person should have that opportunity and if getting involved with athletes makes that possible then I will do my part.
In my career as an Athletic Trainer, I would like to offer my experience and dedication to help athletes in all sports not only stay at the top of their form, but also realize their full potential. I want to offer specialized services, equipment, and treatment techniques to help athletes attain full recovery and achieve optimal performance. After attaining the proper schooling, work experience, and training, I would like to open my own Performance Enhancement Program. I would like to build my cliental with professional athletes, area teams, organizations, high schools, colleges, and individuals. I want to give them all that has been afforded to me through my parents, family, coaches, and trainers.
