Hello...my name is Parker Nielsen and I will graduate in May of 2020. I am committed to being a great student and athlete. While I spend many hours of time in the gym, I also make sure that I am keeping up with my homework, class projects and studying for tests. My parents have taught me the importance of working hard and being respectful. As an athlete and student, I am always working to be the best I can be.
I attend high school in Prescott, WI, located just east of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. I have played varsity basketball beginning with my freshman year and in 2018 our team was lucky enough to win the Division 3 State Tournament Title. In addition to school ball, I have also played AAU for the past seven years. Currently I play for MN Select out of Bloomington, MN. We will be playing in the NY2LA and Sanford Pentagon circuits.
What makes me a great basketball player is that I have excellent court sense and am able to find the open person or create options to get a teammate open. Making a great no-look pass is more exciting than any outside shot or drive. That being said, I am able to shoot from the outside, to drive and score, to rebound and to provide opportunities for others to score. Thanks to my time spent weight training, I am strong and carry very little body fat on my frame. Depending on the line-up, I can be the point guard or the person posting up on the block.
Basketball is my passion, despite having played soccer, football and baseball. I have enjoyed playing school ball in Wisconsin and AAU ball mostly throughout Minnesota and other states. I would bring integrity and a love the game to any college team I was part of.
