Tyus Wills '22 Recruiting Profile

Basketball and competitive team sports is all I have known my whole life. My parents were both student-athletes in college and both coach either at the high school or collegiate level.  I am a 6'2 versatile guard that is fast on the court and able to push the ball if needed as well as be a strong defender. I see and read the court very well and have a high basketball IQ making sure I study the game.  Leadership comes natural to me and not only do I try to lead by example, I also push others around me to be  their best. I understand what coaches want from their athletes and am very coachable and  responsible on and off the court.

The past 18 months has proven that I possess determination, resilience and motivation. The cards dealt me have not been easy but I play them and I play them to win. After COVID restrictions and an injury I am ready to step into a major role on my HS team this season as a senior. I am fortunate to be a part of a competitive and successful High School program at Sun Prairie so I know what it takes.  I am focused and working towards my potential that will only escalate as I enter college. Although my path to get to where I want to go has not been easy, I choose to have a good attitude and stay focused on my goals and be the best student-athlete and all around person I can be.

 It is my goal to play basketball in college while getting my degree and then becoming a coach to stay in the sport I love. I am open to all options where a program and coaching staff see my athleticism, desire and ability to make a difference for their team.
