My name is Trey Rinn, I am a three sport athlete for the Bearcats, class of 2024 at Douglas High School in Douglas, Wyoming. I play football, basketball and soccer. I am most passionate about basketball, I play shooting guard and point guard. I strive to do my best in everything I do, both academics and athletics are of high importance to me. I work hard in the classroom and have a 4.0 GPA.
I’ve always wanted to play college basketball, even since I was a little kid. I’ve been playing basketball competitively since I was in 2nd grade and love the sport.
I feel that I am a very coachable player and I am willing to do anything the team needs to be successful. I am a good shooter and I rebound well for my size. I always work hard defensively. One thing I think sets me apart is my work ethic and my sportsmanship. I always work hard and I strive to be a leader on and off the court.
My Sophomore year I played both JV and Varsity. Playing JV gave me a great opportunity to become more of a leader and to step up and become more aggressive on the court. Playing Varsity was fun and challenging and I feel I improved my game across the board that season. Our team finished first in conference, second at Regionals and second at State, both those losses were in close intense games. I was the only non-starter on my Varsity team to be named All-Conference that year.
My Junior year was a great year. I was a starting shooting guard and continued my work as a leader and hard worker on the court. My team ended the season 27-2 (a school wins record) and finished 3rd at State. We lost in a close game in the semi-finals and unfortunately did not get to play for the Championship title. I was proud to be named 3A Player of the East, All-Conference, All-Conference Defensive Team and All-State. I also broke our school's record for number of 3s in a game - with 7.
My Senior year my team finished 23-4. We won our regional championship (I scored 34 in that game) and finished 3rd at our state tournament. I tied the school record once again with 7 3s in a game and also surpassed the 1000 career point mark. I was again named All-Conference, All Defensive Team and Unanimous All-State. I am honored to also be invited to play in the 2024 Wyoming Coaches Foundation North/South All-Star basketball game this summer.
I hope to follow in my dad's footsteps and fulfill my dream of playing college basketball. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
