Personal Statement

My mother has always been a great supporter of everything I have done or have wanted to do, including diving. She has been an exponential part of my athletic interest, and actually got me started diving about 6 years ago. I got into diving years ago when I was messing around in the pool in our backyard, and then I did a dive with a lot of twists on it. My entire family was amazed and my mom signed me up for a dive practice to see if I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the sport and didn’t think anything more of it other than it was fun, but then the more I did it, the more I wanted to pursue the sport. I have learned a lot about myself while diving, for instance, I love being high up and to be in the water.

I’m a student at Catholic High School with the intentions of getting all A’s and a 4.0 GPA. I want to go to an academically great college, but also one with a men’s diving team. I have had to surmount many obstacles to get to where I am now. I practice for three hours, three days per week, and with an additional three day per week fitness workout.
