I am Victor Hearn, I’ve been springboard diver since I was 7-years old, and a tower diver since I was 9-years old. Over the last 10 years, I have competed all over Canada, attending provincial and national level meets since I was in the 10-11 year age group. I have competed at the last 7 annual Canadian Jr. Nationals across all 3-events (1M, 3M and Platform), regularly reaching the top 10 in Canada for my age group. Since my 14-15 year age group, I have regularly competed at both the age group level, as well as in the senior group level. in 2020, just prior to COVID shutdowns, I competed in the US at the Orlando All Star Invitational getting exposure to the US system and engaging with US athletes.
Academically, I am a diligent and consistent student with a 3.71 Core Course GPA, and have pushed my limits with more advanced courses to ensure I am readying myself for my university career. I am very technically minded and enjoy anything related to puzzles or problem solving (my GPA in technical and science classes is 4.0). I have a passion for anything related to computers, from dealing with software to building machines for myself and friends, so I am interested in exploring a technical engineering or computer science program.
I am looking for a college where I can continue to athletically grow my diving career and explore my technical passions to find the right academic career. In Canada, I would likely have had to choose between diving and university - I am hopeful that choosing the right school in the US will allow me to blend my diving and academic careers so I can continue to compete in diving AND maintain my strong academic focus on my technical passions.
