After doing gymnastics for 13 years and competing for 7, diving has been a somewhat natural progression. I started on my high school team, with no formal coaching and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and energy of the sport. I loved being able to meet new people, experience new things, and learn how to use the skills I had learned for so long in a new way. When I joined a formal club, I began to love it more. With more coaching and more opportunities to dive, I began to improve. In addition to this, I continued to meet new people and have new experiences. Ever since I joined my high school swim and dive team, being able to dive at a collegiate level has been very high on my priority list, the atmosphere, energy, and overall excitement of the sport has only made me want to continue being a part of it in college. In addition to diving, I am also very passionate about music. My primary instrument is French Horn and I have been playing for 7 years. I have participated in honor ensembles at the local and state level and I am principle Horn in the DC Youth Orchestra based in Washington DC. We have toured around the world to Spain and Portugal, and soon, Vienna, Munich, and Prague. I also am in the International Baccalaureate program which has greatly impacted my worldview and pushed me to become a more well rounded, diverse, and motivated student by learning from an international and experience based program.
