Matthew Akers '17 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a Junior at Westlake High School and completing my third varsity year with the high school diving team. My Sophomore year I was named MVP for the Swim/Dive team.  Currently, I am the diving team captain, two year conference champion and 2016 State qualifier. I then proceeded to take eighth place overall. I am also a 2016 USA Diving National qualifier on platform and nearly making on 3m. I have been a member of Cleveland Area Diving for two years. Outside of diving, I have been on the varsity pole vaulting team for two years. Extracurriculars include facilitating Westlake high schools leadership challenge, member of students against destructive decisions (SADD), and a volunteer camp counselor with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for 3 years.

I am looking for a college that will enable me to enhance my diving skills as well as offer me an outstanding academic opportunity in a health related field of study.
