My desire to dive at the collegiate level is something that I've wanted since I was six years old when I started diving at a club. There was a diver that was recruited to Alabama when I was small and I looked up to him and wanted to follow in his footsteps. Seeing where diving can take me and all the opportunities it provides such as traveling and seeing new sites, meeting new people, and most of all testing myself at the highest level. What can I achieve? How far will my hard work and talent take me?
Early in my dive career my coach, Vlad, told me that I had excellent lines and great technique. As my DD progressed and I grew stronger I developed a passion for competition. When I compete I love the feeling of completing the dive and knowing I worked hard to achieve my goal. I often get excited thinking through the process of getting new dives. While it's really tough making time to practice, stay focused on drylands, work the drills on the board, try the new dives, and then compete, I enjoy it. My technique has remained one of my strengths and I'm able to use it to better learn new dives.
I am searching for a program/school that invests in their students, not only academically but also athletically. An environment focused on helping athletes thrive, provide a variety of opportunities to experience life, and be part of a program that brings value to their school. No matter if the school is near or far from my current home I hope be a valuable contribution to a competitive team.
