Golf has been a big part of my life growing up. It has taught me to never give up and that hard work pays off. Ever since going out to the golf course when I was 8 years old with my Grandfather, I knew that I wanted to play college golf.
Low-maintenance…. When I think about why a coach would want me to be a part of their golf team, low-maintenance is the word that comes to mind. After all, everyone who strives to play golf at the college level is a good golfer. If I were a coach who is selecting players from a pool of talent, I would want to fill my team with guys who are self-directed and committed.
Playing multiple sports (varsity football, varsity basketball and varsity golf) while striving to maintain high academic standards, has cultivated these qualities in me. Organization, planning ahead and prioritization are qualities that have been essential for me to be able to participate in multiple activities. No one has to remind me to set my alarm, remind me that I need to practice, that I have a test coming up etc. I know what I need to do to get the job done, and I do it to the best of my ability. I feel this unwavering commitment to excellence would make me an excellent addition to your golf team.
