2021 Highlights Personal Statement
Hi my name is Harris Bennett. I play golf at The Lakeside School in Eufaula, Alabama, and also enjoy playing in summer tournaments. My younger brother Rhodes and I have played golf with my dad as long as we can remember! I have always been a good golfer and played as a starter on our high school varsity team as a 7th grader (named "rising star" by coaches). I have since been our team MVP four times. But I have really improved my golf game greatly in the last few months. I have reached a zero handicap and my low score recently is a 68 at my home course in Eufaula. On our first two HS tournaments of the year, I tied for low medalist in the first and came in second in the second tournament. I played several summer events on the Alabama Northwest Florida Junior Tour in 2020 (won the season points race) but I have improved greatly since the summer. My recent improvement has led me to become very serious about pursuing college golf. I am somewhat flexible in terms of the schools I pursue. I wish to take a look at a number of schools and programs in an effort to find the best fit. I am looking for the opportunity to get a good education, contribute greatly to an outstanding team, work with a great coach to develop my game as much as possible, and build a foundation and network for future success.
