Robert Bennett '24 Recruiting Profile

The first thing you notice about me is my height of 6 ft. 8 inches. In varsity football, I am the tight end on offense and D-end on defense. I was a team captain this past year.  In varsity basketball, I am the 5 (center) and won most valuable player on offense and won the rebounding award.  I was on a couple of all-tournament teams during the season. I made all-state this season and averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds. I had six (or maybe 7) triple doubles with points, rebounds, and blocked shots.  But make no mistake, golf is my true lifelong passion.  I have loved golf since I was a baby sitting on my dad's lap watching the Master's.  I have been on the "starting five" on our varsity golf team since I was a sixth grader.  I was actually one of the lowest qualifiers for varsity as a 5th grader but the Coach wouldn'd let me play.  Obviously, playing two other varsity sports from August to February has probably challenged my golf game, but I still manage to play very well.  I was recently named all-state and will represent Alabama in a multi-state tournament. I WANT TO PLAY COLLEGE GOLF.  I won two low medalists during the 2023 season and led my team to 3rd place in the Alabama Independent School Association.  This past season, I was top 5 individual in every tournament I played (average 45 to 60 participants in each).  I won low medalist in one high school tournament last year with a 71 and was in the Top 5 just about every tournament we played last year.  I had one low medalist in the 21 season as well.  In junior tournaments I have done very well.  Check out my success under the tournaments section of this website.  In the last two weeks I have had a 2nd overall and a 3rd overall at tough courses on the Alabama Robert Trent Jones Trail.  Yesterday I shot 33 on the back nine and finished second.  More information to follow.  I am a very good student and really desire to be an outstanding student-athlete.
