Rory Wutzke '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rory and I am a competitive golfer from Canada, currently attending grade 12 at Our Lady of Mount Pleasant School in Camrose, Alberta. 

I started golfing four years ago playing local golf courses and began playing competitively two years ago competing in Alberta Golf events, along with, Maple Leaf Junior Tour events. I have a passion for the game and I am constantly working on trying to become a better player. Unfortunately, our season only runs from late May to October. With such a time restraint, I train twice as hard throughout the summer, which includes at least 7 hours a day on the golf course when I’m not competing in tournaments.

I am a multisport athlete that has competed in: Hockey, Basketball, Track, Badminton, and Tennis. As a multisport athlete, I have learned how to balance academics along with sports, while maintaining at least an 80% average. I have also refined my time management skills. I believe I have many key characteristics that are important to become a successful student-athlete, but my strongest attribute is my work ethic. 

I am looking forward to the opportunity to study and play golf in the Fall of 2021. I am a student-athlete that is excited to see where college golf can take me not only athletically but also academically.
