I love golf, and have played since age 5 when my Dad introduced me to the game. Like many Canadian kids my early focus was on competitive hockey. However, I have focused full-time on golf for the last three years.
For the last two years I have been a Sponsored Junior Member at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club which has allowed me to play over 100 rounds a year and have unlimited use of their amazing practice facilities. I am also in the Elite golf program run by the Derek Baker Golf Academy (PGA Professional). We meet regularily and work on all facets of the game, utilizing DECADE, Aimpoint, and course management. In 2022 my handicap has improved from 3.8 to 0.6. My current swing speed is 115 mph and driver carry about 280 yds.
My recent highlights include 3 wins in one-day tournaments (73, 73, 77), 1 win and 2 top-ten finishes in two-day tournaments (145, 153, 154), and 13th in a three-day tournament (231). I also recently shot 69 for my first time and recorded my first hole-in-one.
I'm confident that in my Senior year of high school and club season I will continue to make significant progress in lowering my scoring differential and tournament scores.
I'm looking for a College program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I love competition, and my goal for golf at the collegiate level is to positively impact the team and school through scoring results, leadership, and great camaraderie.
My SMART Goals are for 2022 are:
- Reduce my handicap index to 0
- Play in 15+ tournaments, including 3-day events.
- Obtain a Top 10 Season ranking for MJT Junior Tour (Canada), and a season tournament scoring average (2 and 3-day tournaments) below 76 per round.
- Commit to a College Golf program.
- Maintain a 3+ GPA
