Moving to Arizona 4.5 years ago from California, shifted my focus from baseball and basketball to the sport of golf. I had been playing baseball year round for close to 9 years, and was burned out. At 12 years old we moved into a home located right next to Verrado Golf Club. I began practicing with my dad and immediately fell in love with the sport. Over the next 2 years, I played with my dad and other members of the club. I made my varsity high school team as a freshman, my sophomore year I was the number 2 player, and as a junior I missed our state tournament by 1 stroke.
Missing state was frustrating because I knew my competitive nature (my mental game) effected my score too many times during the season. However, coming that close also gave me purpose to get control of my emotions. I used the frustration to focus intensely on improving myself both mentally and physically. I started getting up at 4:30 a.m. to go to the gym, after school I went to the driving range, and I worked on my mental game with a mental strength coach, my uncle. Hard work has paid off, and my first tournament of 2019 I came in 4th place. I am looking for a program that will continue to shape my game, character and drive to succeed. I know I will make a great addition to your team.
