Dillon Washburn '11 Recruiting Profile

I am Dillon Washburn, a high school senior at Blue Ridge High School. I participate in three sports throughout the academic year;soccer, basketball, and my favorite, golf. I have excelled in all three of these sports. Our soccer team won the 3A state tournament in 2009. What an experience! As a senior now, I am one of six captains on the soccer team. People may think that is too many captains for one team. I disagree. With six captains I feel like we balance out quite well with decision making on the field. I can not wait to try to make it to the top of the mountain, State Champions. That would be a great accomplishment, but it takes hard work to get there. I have been on varsity soccer the past 3 years. For basketball, last year I was named best shooter for my team. We also co-region champions last year, which was a good accomplishment. My heart lies with golf. No question about it. I have been on the varsity golf team my entire high school career. I have also been a medalist in our regional tournament the last three years(top 10) and hope I can reach that goal again. I have been 10th, 5th, and 8th respectively in that category. As a junior last year, I started to excel in golf. I shot one under par in a 9 gole match, I made the top ten in all of my big tournaments. I also led my golf team a first place trophy which we have not had a victory since 7 years ago. Very pleased with myself and for the team. I am six foot and weigh 155 pounds. My fourty yard dash is 4.7. For school, I am about the academics. I am open to ANY school that is interested in me. Big or small does not pertain to me. I want to get a good education so I can have a career not in a sport, but in a profession. I hope this information has proved worth of how I am as student athlete.
