I started playing golf when I was four years old with a set of cut-down clubs my Grandpa made for me. I played several other sports growing up, including baseball that I have continued to play my first two years of high school. While I really enjoy playing baseball, I truly love playing golf -- even while carrying the clubs during one of those 110 degree August rounds we play in Arizona. I am fully committed to doing everything I can to play golf at the next level.
Although golf is inherently an individual game, I really like the team aspect of high school and college golf. Comparing notes and sharing stories with my teammates and coaches after a round is always interesting. There is usually something to smile about even when a round didn’t go as well as planned. And the post-round team meals at the local BBQ place are always great. I look forward to developing new friendships and sharing those kind of moments with new teammates as part of a college golf program.
I am looking for a school that will challenge me both athletically and academically. I am a member of National Honor Society with a weighted GPA of 4.25 and have taken multiple honors classes each year of high school. I have always worked hard in school and will continue to do so as a collegiate student-athlete. I am deeply committed to representing the school I attend with honor and integrity on the course, in the classroom, and in the community. Regardless of how I play, I will be a great teammate, student, and citizen.
