Hi, my name is Karter Rowton. I am a junior at Mount Ida High School. My parents taught me at a young age the importance of academics. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA through sophomore and junior year with a 3.95 my freshman year. I have been a multi sport athlete since second grade. Through my high school career, I have been the starting quarterback on the varsity football team, starting second baseman since 9th grade in baseball, and starting shooting guard in basketball.
My dad introduced me to golf about two years ago. It didn’t take long for golf to become my favorite sport. My passion to excel at golf gave me the incentive to help start a golf program at Mount Ida High school so future students as well as my siblings could have the opportunity to enjoy the game of golf.
As a junior, I finished tenth in the state high school tournament. My future goals include finishing top five in the state tournament this fall, and to be accepted into a college that will challenge me academically as well as in golf. My strong work ethic and desire to excel will allow me to succeed at the college level if given the opportunity.
Thank you for your consideration.
