During my time at Waldron High School, I have enjoyed the privilege of playing high school golf with my teammates, while also creating friendships with golfers on and off the course that I will remember throughout my lifetime. As I am now approaching my senior year of high school, the thought of playing college golf has come to mind several times. As I know my personal limitations, I would love to pursue my future career academically and athletically. I realize that I have been under the term 'student-athlete' at high school right now, and will continue to be in college. I understand that academics comes before athletics, something that my coaches in high school have preached to me for years. I have maintained a Weighted GPA of 3.72, while being in the top 20% of my class academically, with AP courses. I have only been playing golf for a little over 4 years, and I have improved each year. I have a 9 hole average of 37.5, and a 9 hole tournament average of 39.5. I also have a 18 hole average of 78.5, and a 18 hole tournament average of 82.5. My Junior year has been my best year as a golfer, I was Individual Medalist in 3 regular season tournaments with scores of 39, 36, and 35, while also having one Runner-Up finish with a score of 38. I also won the Conference Tournament individually. Even though my Senior Year did not go the way I expected it to, I am more determined than ever to continue to learn more about the game of golf through my swing instructor, Brannon Watson of Arkansas Golf Center, who I have been with throughout the past 3 years. I believe it is understandable that golfers will go through rough stretches in their career, but when they eventually bounce back, they come back better than they were previously. I plan to play several ASGA Tournaments before my Freshman Year of College, and hopefully continue my athletic career in Golf during College.
