The highlight of my High School golf career so far is being named All Area Player of The Year for 2018. I have been able to lower my scoring average which was 79.6 my Freshman year to 72.2 my Junior year. I won 4 out of 8 HS tournaments this year in one of the most competitive leagues in Central California. I have been able to get my game to this point being self - dad taught. I have recently started with a swing coach and we are making minor adjustments to my swing and putting stroke. My goal is too consistently shoot under par and get my scoring average under par! I come from an athletic family my mother and father both played sports collegiality. My father has coached me in football, basketball and most recently in course management on the golf course. When I turned twelve years old I stopped playing baseball and got serious about playing golf. I started playing in Kern County local junior golf tournaments and now play in the Ventura County Junior Golf Association VCJGA and the Junior Tour of Northern California against some of the best junior golfers in California. In these tournaments I have one win and placed in the top ten seven out of the eight tournaments I have played. The mental aspects of the golf game is one of my strengths. I attribute this strength to playing other sports and being in pressure situations growing up. Playing football and basketball in H.S. where I have thrown the game winning touchdown and made game winning jump shots has prepared me for pressure moments in golf. In College I have aspirations to be part of a fun, cohesive, and most importantly a successful golf team that competes for championships. I see golf as a team sport in which my individual golf game helps the team win. I have been able to be successful in H.S. academically while playing multiple sports. This has helped me learn time management in regards to academic study and practice. I feel this has prepared me for the academic demands college golf seasons create.
