As a cross country/track and field runner and student, I am very self-driven and determined to overcame any obstacle I am faced with. I believe I am a leader and will do whatever is asked of me by my coaches. I always strive to be the best person I can be in all aspects of my life.
I first began high school as a freshman soccer player who was looking to improve on my endurance. I began running, and fell in love with it instantly. I soon joined my school's track and field team, and have been running ever since. As a junior, I started off my cross country season as captain. I really enjoy it because I love being around my teammates and making sure we are all doing whatever we can to be the best versions of ourselves. I am a very social person and I'm not afraid to talk to new people. I'm also known for my ability to publicly speak without any worries.
As a hardworking a student, I take my academic very seriously and put 100% effort into my homework, assignment, and test. I am enrolled currently in an AP and an honors class. I look to continue taking AP and Honor's classes as a senior next year.
During my time as a high school runner, I've faced many obstacles. Some of my biggest life lessons that I've learned have came from my most painful and embarrassing failures in races. I never see a mistake or a bad race as an everlasting failure, I see it as a lesson to be learned and something that really shows who you are.
Running has shown me who I really am; a hardworking and extremely dedicated athlete and student. I promise to give 100% effort and to always perform to the best of my abilities.
