I have developed an early love for the game because I started playing when I was four years old. What I enjoy most about the game is that it is an individual sport. You only have yourself to look to if you hit a bad shot or mess something up. However, I do like to have a team atmosphere where we are able to push and challenge each other to become champions together. I have learned that if I shoot a good round, I may be happy, but not completely satisfied with myself. I am always trying to improve no matter what. Over the years of my golfing career, I have realized that the mental side of golf is the most challenging. You have to remain positive in the process of recovering from poor shots. I see myself as a positive influence, wherein I have been able to help others with their mental game: if they mess up, I am able to turn that negative situation into something positive. I tend to be a very teachable athlete. If my coach tells me to change something in my swing or in my mental game, I will do that instantly.
My academic goals for high school are to earn the highest grades I can while still improving my golf game. For college, I want to earn at least a bachelor’s degree in Communications. My goal once I graduate is to be a writer for the sport of golf.
